The Queen Mother of Doctor Who fandom, Jeremy Bentham, hosted a big viewing party on April 3 to herald the regular return of Doctor Who to our screens. Several members of the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance were in attendance, as well, and managed to get an interview with Jeremy Bentham himself, recorded chats with other luminaries of fandom Tony Clark and Anthony Brown, and a sampling of general feedback from many of the Doctor Who fans in attendance, most of whom appeared to be very pleased with Matt Smith’s debut as the Doctor. Listen and enjoy!

Thanks to the totally awesome Series 5 – Coming Soon trailer that aired after The Eleventh Hour on April 3, the usual “Next Episode” trailer wasn’t shown. Here’s the official BBC trailer for Episode 2, The Beast Below, airing Saturday, April 10 at 6:15 PM on BBC One and BBC HD:
(Thanks to @Graham_Brown_ for the heads up!)
The Three Who Rule were joined by Neil from Hartlepool (and Tachyon TV, tangentially) to celebrate the return of Doctor Who to our screens and to fete the debut of Karen Gillan, Matt Smith, and showrunner Steven Moffat in their respective roles of awesome, awesomer and awesomest. There was much discussion of “The Eleventh Hour,” which other than an atrocious new theme tune (and lack of a McCoy era sex wink) was deemed near perfect. All that and news, tomfoolery and a very strange extra feature on the upcoming Planet of Fire DVD round out this episode of RFS. Geronimo. |
