  • Radio Free Skaro #296 – Cleaning Up the Corn Field

Day Two of Gally! • Radio Free Skaro #295 – Radio Free Skaro and The World of Tomorrow

Gallifrey Live Show! At long last, Radio Free Skaro's time-filling series of Series 6 commentaries comes to an end with the Three Who Rule talking over "The Wedding of River Song". They manage to keep vaguely on topic, perhaps a tough task given their general ennui towards the Series 6 finale which contained ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #291 – That Which Survives

A simple commentary about "Closing Time," which gave the Three Who Rule ample time to discuss the great chemistry between Matt Smith and guest star James Corden, instead devolved into a simply rancid discussion on babies and their propensity to poop on this episode of Radio Free Skaro. Our ...

Radio Free Skaro #256 – Click here to listen

The Almost People, part 2 of Doctor Who’s sentient play-doh saga initiated last week with The Rebel Flesh, proved to be only quasi-compelling to the RFS lads. Indifference shifted to both gasps of astonishment and grumblings of unhappiness at the “game-changing” cliffhanger to this week’s festivities…and we still have A Good Man Goes to War to look forward to next week (or the week after that, SPACE and BBC America viewers.) In the meantime, stats were examined, asteroid-eating goats invented, and Journey’s End was maligned with a naughty word. Just another normal day here at Radio Free Skaro.

Radio Free Skaro #255 – Click here to listen

Fear Her is a story not well beloved by most Who fans (one RFS host being the notable exception), but Life on Mars is near universally praised. Since both were written by Matthew Graham, the writer of this week’s “The Rebel Flesh,” the Three Who Rule didn’t know what to expect as they sat down to view this latest adventure of the Doctor and his companions. What did the Three Who Rule think of Graham’s apology for Fear Her? You’ll just have to listen to find out!

Access Hollywood has aired a new trailer for Torchwood: Miracle Day! And here it is, with actual clips and footage and everything!

It has been learned that due to the American Memorial Day holiday, BBC America will be delaying the broadcast of Doctor Who. Series 6 will get a gap between episode 5, The Rebel Flesh, and episode 6, The Almost People because of the long weekend. The Rebel Flesh will go out as expected this weekend, May 21, but The Almost People will not be seen until June 4.

As partial compensation for the delay, BBC America will be showing a Doctor Who marathon on May 28 featuring the entire run of Series 5 and all of Series 6 to that point, including an encore presentation of The Rebel Flesh, but skipping over A Christmas Carol.

Unfortunately, SPACE has to follow BBC America’s lead and will also be preempting The Almost People on May 28, though instead of showing any Doctor Who at the usual 8:00 PM EDT time slot, SPACE is showing the Will Smith movie I, Robot.

This development is disappointing, especially since both BBC America and SPACE fought so hard to get day and date transmissions of Doctor Who with the UK. Nothing is yet known how or if this may impact the latter half of the series to be broadcast this fall.

Continuing with the tradition of DVD releases coming the second Tuesday of the month in North America, the first Doctor Who DVD title for September 2011 has been announced for September 13. The much-anticipated Jon Pertwee story Day of the Daleks DVD will see a two-disc release, including revamped visual effects and Dalek voices provided by Nick Briggs, the modern voice of the Skaro baddies. In addition, the set will have the usual commentary, multiple documentaries and in what sounds to be a corker, a featurette on the UNIT dating controversy, plus more fun stuff

Each month usually has two titles released, though as with the past couple monthly announcements only the one title has been announced initially; keep an eye on this space for the second September release when known.

SRP will be $34.98; check out TVShowsOnDVD.com for more details, or click on the artwork for a larger image.

Radio Free Skaro #254 – Click here to listen

In one of most keenly anticipated Doctor Who episodes in some time, legendary fantasy writer Neil Gaiman finally got the keys to the TARDIS and presented us with a gloriously affectionate love letter to Doctor Who, the series that he has adored since before time itself. The Doctor’s Wife was one of the more unique stories ever presented, yet its heart (or hearts) was in the right place. What did The Three Who Rule think, you may well ask? Listen in to find out…
