It’s not often that we post fan productions at Radio Free Skaro, but we felt this was too impressive a production to ignore! Created by Kevin Kittridge, co-directed, shot, and edited by Richard Schultz, and featuring a cast of characters and costumes from Bob Mitsch (who many will know or know of from Gallifrey One), this six-minute music video called “Doctor Who and the Universal Vacation” is a truly impressive creation. Missing Classic Doctor Who Episodes Found!

In some exciting news, the BBC today announced that two previously missing episodes from Classic Doctor Who have been returned to the BBC archives!

Air Lock, episode 3 from Galaxy 4, a story which was previously completely missing (save a few minutes presented on the Lost In Time DVD set), has been located and returned to the BBC along with episode 2 of the Patrick Troughton story The Underwater Menace.

The Radio Times has a great article about the find, and the BBC itself has posted a lovely piece. The discoveries were presented at the Missing Presumed Wiped event in London.

Given it’s been more than 7 years since the last announced recovery of a missing episode we’re more than a little excited by the news even if the stories in question aren’t exactly classics.

Only 106 missing episodes left to go…

Doctor Who Wrap Party Videos

Two videos produced exclusively for the wrap party for The End of Time (and David Tennant’s, Russell T Davies’s, and Julie Gardner’s farewell to Doctor Who) have made their way to the internet. If you haven’t seen them yet, you can now below!

The first video features the entire cast and crew miming along to The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”:

Doctor Who Confidential Axed

In news that is bound to bother some while others cheer, it was announced earlier today that BBC Three has dropped Doctor Who Confidential from its programme lineup.

The news first broke via The Guardian and was later confirmed by Confidential Producer Zoe Rushton.

Cancellation of Confidential was due to BBC Three budget cuts and, apparently, in order to focus on a “priority … to build on original British commissions, unique to the channel” according to a BBC Three spokesperson quoted in The Guardian’s article.

Confidential had been paired with Doctor Who since the very beginning of the show’s relaunch in 2005 and provided behind-the-scenes footage and interviews to give viewers a deeper insight into what went into making the show we all love so much.

The final edition of Confidential to be aired will be this weekend’s When Time Froze, after The Wedding of River Song goes out on BBC One as announced by the BBC. Meanwhile, fandom has initiated a campaign to save Confidential, via twitter, at @SaveDWC.
