• Radio Free Skaro #292 – Amok Time

At long last, Radio Free Skaro's time-filling series of Series 6 commentaries comes to an end with the Three Who Rule talking over "The Wedding of River Song". They manage to keep vaguely on topic, perhaps a tough task given their general ennui towards the Series 6 finale which contained ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #291 – That Which Survives

A simple commentary about "Closing Time," which gave the Three Who Rule ample time to discuss the great chemistry between Matt Smith and guest star James Corden, instead devolved into a simply rancid discussion on babies and their propensity to poop on this episode of Radio Free Skaro. Our ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #288 – Friday’s Child

Despite January usually being a lean time for news of things Who, this week was chock full of factoids and quasi-related marginalia for the Three Who Rule to ponder and prognosticate upon. Of course all seriousness went out the window with a commentary on "Night Terrors," which such weighty matters ...

The time has finally arrived for The Three Who Rule to cast their eyes back on Series 6 of Doctor Who via their annual commentary series. Things kick off with, of course, The Impossible Astronaut, as the lads talk over what they felt to be one of the best opening episodes for any series of NuWho… and as ever, rarely staying on topic. The news of the week rounds out the show with a look at DVDs, books, and the latest from the rumour mill.

Although Amazon.ca jumped the gun with this release information some weeks back, and although we’ve already covered this on the podcast, it is now confirmed that the February 2012 North American DVD releases will be the William Hartnell story The Sensorites and the special edition of the Peter Davison story The Caves of Androzani.

With a release date of February 14, The Sensorites is a brand new release; however, North America is still catching up with the first Revisitations set as released in the UK, and Caves rounds out that collection. The Revisitations releases are of course now the only releases lagging behind the UK.

UPDATE: The finalized DVD art has been unveiled (click each picture to see larger versions of the covers), and the names of the extras on The Sensorites DVD have also been unveiled. Check out the TVShowsOnDVD entry to see those here.

The Caves of Androzani will be a two-disc release and will retail for $34.98, while the single-disc The Sensorites will carry a $24.98 MSRP.

Gallifrey One has announced another guest update for the 2012 edition of the popular Doctor Who convention, featuring first-time guest W. Morgan Sheppard, and writer Simon Guerrier!

Sheppard played the older version of Canton Everett Delaware III in this past series of Doctor Who and joins his son, Mark, as a guest for the upcoming convention. Guerrier is known for his work with his brother Thomas on the Classic Doctor Who DVD range along with writing novels, Big Finish audio plays and more.

Also announced today are actress Chase Masterson who made an appearance at the previous Gallifrey One, director James Kerwin, illustrator Blair Shedd, animator Aimee Major Steinberger, and NASA scientist Dr Kevin Grazier.

Unfortunately the announcement today also revealed previously-announced guest Frazer Hines would be unable to attend.

Gallifrey One is North America’s largest Doctor Who convention and Network 23, running February 17-19, 2012, will be dedicated to the memory of Elisabeth Sladen and Nicholas Courtney.

Silence! (Silents?) Timey-wimey! River Song getting hitched! “The Wedding of River Song” had it all, including a moving tribute to the Brig. But did the various parts mesh together into a satisfying whole, or did the Three Who Rule think otherwise? The sudden demise of Doctor Who Confidential was also hashed over in great detail, with some division on the reasons and consequences of losing a window into the behind the scenes goings-on of our favorite television program.
