Silence! (Silents?) Timey-wimey! River Song getting hitched! “The Wedding of River Song” had it all, including a moving tribute to the Brig. But did the various parts mesh together into a satisfying whole, or did the Three Who Rule think otherwise? The sudden demise of Doctor Who Confidential was also hashed over in great detail, with some division on the reasons and consequences of losing a window into the behind the scenes goings-on of our favorite television program. Stats, toys, t-shirts, expensive scale models of Matt Smith….and baseless Cybermat Roomba speculation round out this, the last Radio Free Skaro dealing with new Who until December 25th. |

A minotaur, a question of fear and faith, and a turning point for the Doctor and his companions…not to mention a surreal hotel from Hell! The God Complex went under the RFS microscope this week, with a smattering of opinion both favourable and somewhat less so. Add a giant brick wall o’ stats, a Sarah Jane launch date, some new guests for Gallifrey 2012, and an interview with “The Girl Who Waited” scribe Tom MacRae, and you’ve got yourself an audio file of approximately an hour in length! |

Fear Her, one of the less appreciated stories in the Doctor Who oeuvre, isn’t a story that the Three Who Rule reasoned (or hoped) would ever be brought up again in Doctor Who, but all three of your intrepid hosts got a distinct Chloe Webber/scribble monster/suburban England vibe from Mark Gatiss’s Night Terrors. That isn’t to say that they didn’t enjoy it, though. Also up for discussion was Episode 9 of Torchwood: Miracle Day, The Gathering, as that series hurdles, or stumbles, to its conclusion next week. All this and the usual dash and sprinkle of news, including the talk of the upcoming UNIT Box Set and some bona fide monumental viewing figures for SPACE in Canada. |

As mentioned by The Radio Times, and now confirmed by the BBC, the title of Episode 13 of the current series of Doctor is the intriguing The Wedding of River Song. Read a mini-preview of each episode of Series 6.2 on the BBC Doctor Who website here.
Last week, The Daily Star had reported the title for Episode 13 to be The Wedding, so it appears they were at least partially correct.
The list of episodes titles for the latter half of Series 6 is now complete, and here it is:
8. Let’s Kill Hitler, by Steven Moffat
9. Night Terrors, by Mark Gatiss
10. The Girl Who Waited, by Tom MacRae
11. The God Complex, by Toby Whithouse
12. Closing Time, by Gareth Roberts
13. The Wedding of River Song, by Steven Moffat
Continuing in the new tradition of stealing the BBC’s thunder, a BBC America press release today revealed the title of Gareth Roberts’ episode 12 as Closing Time.
The BBC had thus far kept the titles for Episodes 12 and 13 under wraps, but with this announcement, all titles are now known for the latter half of Series 6 with the exception of Steven Moffat’s Episode 13 finale. Of course nobody outside of the production office knows when that last title will be revealed, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the BBC kept it hidden for a while yet, despite the imminent return of the series.
The episodes titles for the latter half of Series 6 are:
8. Let’s Kill Hitler, by Steven Moffat
9. Night Terrors, by Mark Gatiss
10. The Girl Who Waited, by Tom MacRae
11. The God Complex, by Toby Whithouse
12. Closing Time, by Gareth Roberts
13. Unknown, by Steven Moffat
The BBC America press release can be found here.
In an announcement that surprised nobody, thanks to BBC America spilling the beans weeks ago, the BBC has announced Doctor Who will return to BBC One on 27 August, the same date as SPACE is airing it in Canada and BBC America the US. No specific time has yet been announced, however.
The BBC has issued a press release with this info but more interestingly they’ve also given synopses for all but the final episode of this latter half of Series 6. Extreme spoilerphobes should, as always, steer clear, but those who want to be tantalized should definitely have a look at the BBC press release.
Only 11 more days until new Who!
Update: The BBC Press Office has stated a 7:10 PM start time.
Torchwood continues its Miracle Day run with episode 6 and the lads sink their teeth into… well, there’s not much to sink their teeth into this week, is there? Nevertheless, rampant mastication of the worthy bits kills some time as we wait for more Doctor Who and for Torchwood to do something… anything. Also, lamentably, the Summer Classic Commentary Series comes to the end as the Three Who Rule tackle The Invasion’s latter episodes with their usual flare and panache and with the able assistance of their seagull frenemies. |

Can summer be winding down already? It seems so, and along with Torchwood: Miracle Day hitting the halfway mark in its run with another bang up episode (according to the Three Who Rule, who seem to be one of the few Who podcasts out there who are actually enjoying the series), the Summer Classic Commentary Series begins to wind down, as well. This week, Radio Free Skaro’s take on Episodes 1-4 of the 1968-69 epic The Invasion, which may or may not feature the Cybermen. Oh, and the return of new Doctor Who is now less than three weeks away… |
