As 2011 draws to a close and the Three Who Rule look forward to 2012 and the next series of Doctor Who – whenever the heck it ends up being transmitted – and also deliver their commentary for the Series 6.2 opener, Let’s Kill Hitler. And in real-life news, hearty congratulations go out to former Doctor David Tennant and former Doctor’s “daughter” Georgia Moffett on their nuptials! Now calm down, fangirls. Just. Calm. Down.

Steven, our man in…er…Chicago managed to talk to Mark Sheppard about his lifelong passion for Doctor Who and his desire to return to the show, Benjamin Cook talks about his experiences writing The Writer’s Tale with Russell T Davies, Nick Briggs and Jason Haigh-Ellery discuss Tom Baker’s long awaited return to the role of The Doctor (in audio form), as well as say all that they can about the upcoming project to animate the missing episodes of The Reign of Terror, and Robert Shearman mentions Volume 2 of Running Through Corridors in between mouthfuls of pizza and beer. Doctor Who Wrap Party Videos

Two videos produced exclusively for the wrap party for The End of Time (and David Tennant’s, Russell T Davies’s, and Julie Gardner’s farewell to Doctor Who) have made their way to the internet. If you haven’t seen them yet, you can now below!

The first video features the entire cast and crew miming along to The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”:

The second is a comedy musical sketch featuring John Barrowman, David Tennant (as Russell T Davies), and Catherine Tate (as Julie Gardner), among many others:

October 2011 North America Doctor Who DVD Update

A second Doctor Who DVD release has finally been announced for October 11, and interestingly it’s not a classic series story. Rather, it’s a massive new series release – the complete David Tennant years!

This 26-disc release covers all of David Tennant’s tenure as the Doctor, from the Pudsey Cutaway in 2005 to The End of Time Part Two in 2010; included is everything in between, even the animated stories The Infinite Quest and Dreamland.

What doesn’t appear to be here, however, is any new content. Everything in this collection has been released previously, down to the bonus material such as Doctor Who’s Greatest Moments (which in reality was anything but). This set is no doubt designed for folks who’ve held out on buying the Tennant DVDs for whatever reason, or perhaps for fans who have come to the show with Matt Smith and want to bolster their DVD collection in one fell swoop.

This release comes alongside the previously announced Revisitations, 3-disc version of The Talons of Weng-Chiang.

A week after Radio Free Skaro’s thorough examination of Doctor Who’s long and storied history in Canada, the Three Who Rule take a hard left turn into the realm of Norman Kay, composer of three stories from Doctor Who’s embryonic years, as his work was the subject of talk in this week’s Miniscope. To help in the discussion (or basically lead), Radio Free Skaro’s own GetGlue guru Emily Kausilik, a noted music expert in her own right, was brought in to offer her expertise on not only Kay’s music, but how music in general was composed and used in 1960s Doctor Who. And, hey, it’s not often that you get to hear a discussion on 1960s Doctor Who music, is it?

The internet exploded in Doctor Who land this past week with fans beside themselves about Regenergate and Gallifrey One hotel rooms, which caused the Three Who Rule to take time out of this episode to allay those fears. Long stories short: Don’t Panic. Everything’s fine. After those fires were ably extinguished, it was on to the commentary for The Vampires of Venice, a mid-series tome that inspired overwhelming indifference from two members of the Radio Free Skaro team. Did that opinion change…?

BBC Drama Trailer – Autumn/Winter 2010/11

The BBC released a trailer promoting several Drama productions that will be airing in the next few months. The three-minute trailer is chock full of actors who were formerly Doctor Who (Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant), are Doctor Who (Matt Smith), and who could have been Doctor Who (Chiwetel Ejiofor), and there are even a couple of brief clips of the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special. Warren returns to the fold this week, having thought he had escaped the worst that Doctor Who could offer by missing the commentary for Time-Flight last week. Instead, Hartnell-phobe Warren was given both barrels of black and white mediocrity in the form of The Keys of Marinus, one of the lesser lights of the debut season of Doctor Who from 1964. Actually, the Three Who Rule managed to keep themselves reasonably entertained throughout the first three episodes of Terry Nation’s best non-Dalek script that he ever wrote for Doctor Who…until the thought of having to watch three more episodes next week brought everyone back down to Earth.

Doctor Who Series 1-4 on SPACE

SPACE, Canada’s home of Doctor Who, has announced broadcast information for Series 1-4. Beginning Monday, May 31, SPACE subscribers can catch up with past series of NuWho. Episodes will air every Monday through Thursday at 8:00PM Eastern Time with repeats at Midnight.
