It is with a heavy heart that we mark the passing of acting legend John Hurt, beloved by Whovians for his portrayal of the War Doctor in “The Day of the Doctor” but with a career spanning the best of film, TV, and the stage. In happier news, we can now announce the guests for our Gallifrey One live show (contained within) and some other notable Gally news, updates and miscellany! We also announce the winner of our Whographica giveaway contest! Plus stats (bleh) and a commentary for the 1978 story “The Ribos Operation”! To me, Sholakh!

Gallifrey One 2015 – Guest Update

g26frontpage
The second guest update for the 2015 edition of Gallifrey One has been announced, and there are some exciting names to talk about! Read on!

BurnGormanBurn Gorman is making his first appearance at Gallifrey One, taking time away from a busy career on the small screen and the silver screen to join us in Los Angeles. Known in the Doctor Who universe for his role as Owen Harper in “Torchwood”, Burn has gone on to appear in notable roles in Game of Thrones and Pacific Rim.
nevemcintoshNeve McIntosh has become a quick fan favourite at conventions, where she unleashes her bubbly personality that is usually hidden behind layers of latex and make-up in her role as Vastra, one of the semi-regular Paternoster Gang who will be making a return appearance in the upcoming Series 8 premiere “Deep Breath”. Neve first appeared at Gallifrey One in 2013.
jacquelinekingJacqueline King played the disappointed mother to Catherine Tate’s underachieving Donna Noble in the 2006 Christmas Special “The Runaway Bride”. Jacqueline would reprise the role in Series 4 and 2009-10′s “The End of Time”. 2015 will see the first appearance at Gallifrey One for Jacqueline.
MarkSheppardMark Sheppard has become a cherished regular at Gallifrey One, often appearing on a self-moderated panel with his father, actor William Morgan Sheppard. Mark played Canton Everett Delaware III in the opening two-parter of Series 6, but has crafted a career of appearing in many cult sci-fi shows over the years.
Deep RoyDeep Roy is famous in recent years for appearing in a variety of Tim Burton productions including Big Fish and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and perhaps best know now as being Scotty’s alien companion Keenser in the new Star Trek films, Deep Roy played the role of Mr. Sin in the iconic 1977 serial “The Talons of Weng-Chiang”. He also appeared in the flesh as The Klute in the beloved Blake’s 7 episode “Gambit”. This will be Deep’s first appearance at Gallifrey One.
garrickhagonGarrick Hagon is a Canadian actor by nature (born in London, but raised in Toronto), which makes him an automatic favourite amongst the Three Who Rule. However, he’s more famous in Doctor Who circles for his two roles in the programme, separated by 40 years. He played the lead guest role of Ky in 1972’s “The Mutants”, then returned to the show, playing Abraham the undertaker in 2012’s “A Town Called Mercy”. Of course, in the Star Wars universe, Garrick is famous for playing Biggs Darklighter, a character whose scenes were cut from the final release of the film, but who is mentioned by Luke on occasion, thus adding to Biggs’ legend for years! This will be Garrick’s first Gallifrey One.
miketuckerMike Tucker is one of the few people in the world who have worked on both the original series of Doctor Who and the new series. Mike is known for his visual effects work, and his FX team won awards and acclaim for its model work in the 50th anniversary story “The Day of the Doctor”. This will be Mike’s first Gallifrey One appearance.
marnix_van_den_broekeMarnix van den Broeke has the kind of presence where once you see him, then look away, you’ll forget that you ever met him. That might sound like an insult, but to Marnix, it’s a compliment to his role as the lead Silence in Series 6 and 7. The tall Dutchman will be making his first appearance at Gallifrey One.
philfordFriend of the Show Phil Ford has become one of the new regular writers at Gallifrey One, having only missed one convention since making his first appearance in 2009. Phil will have much to talk about this year with his Series 8 Doctor Who story slated to air on August 30.
derekritchieDerek Ritchie is returning for his second straight Gallifrey One appearance. The script editor for Series 8 of Doctor Who and a producer of Wizards vs Aliens, Derek had a wonderful time at his first convention appearance last year and it will be nice to welcome him back.
