The Daleks return to North America this week from the dustbins of history and into your iTunes/BBC America/other in the form of “The Power of the Daleks” in its reanimated glory. And the Three Who Rule are on the case, in the form of interviews with both soundsmith extraordinaire Mark Ayres and Whostorian Toby Hadoke about the making of the animated episodes, as well as the upcoming DVD extras! We also have our usual review of Class, a look at new footgage from “The Return of Doctor Mysterio” and Children In Need, a bloggy Easter Egg from Jamie Mathieson, and more!

The 26 Seasons of Gallifrey One is set to take place from February 13-15 at the LAX Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles, California, and for the fourth year in a row, Radio Free Skaro is proud to kick off the convention on the main stage at 10:30am on Friday, February 13! The show will be called RADIO FREE SKARO: BEHIND THE MAGIC, and will feature a host of behind the scenes guests who have been responsible for making Doctor Who over the years! Appearing with us on stage will be:
Series 8 Panel, Featuring Rachel Talalay, Jamie Mathieson, and Peter Harness
Rachel Talalay (director of “Dark Water” and “Death in Heaven”), Jamie Mathieson (writer of “Mummy on the Orient Express” and “Flatline”), and Peter Harness (writer of “Kill The Moon”) lead off our show with tales and insight on the making of the most recent series of Doctor Who.
One of the first people contacted by Russell T Davies and Julie Gardner to work on the new series of Doctor Who back in 2003, Andy Pryor has been involved in the casting of virtually every single actor to appear in Doctor Who for the past 8 series, including the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Doctors.
Chip Sudderth of Two-Minute Time Lord
Our friend Chip (who is also our technical producer) returns to the stage this year with a presentation of his popular podcast Two-Minute Time Lord! Chip’s previous appearances have been very popular with audiences at the show and listening later on the podcast, and we’re delighted to welcome Chip back to the show.
Danny Hargreaves, Arwel Wyn Jones, and Claire Pritchard
As art director on Doctor Who, Arwel Wyn Jones spends his time making sure the sets and locations look good and believable. Danny Hargreaves, the special effects supervisor on Doctor Who, then comes along and blows it all up. Both aspects of making (and unmaking!) Doctor Who will be covered with these fine gentlemen, and Claire Pritchard will describe what goes into designing the makeup design on Doctor Who!
It all kicks off at 10:30am on Friday, February 13 in the Main Programming Hall at Gallifrey One. Get there early!
Stay tuned to Radio Free Skaro and radiofreeskaro.com for further details about the show, and visit the Gallifrey One website (www.gallifreyone.com) for updates on the convention itself. See you all there!
Trains! Space! A mummy! Jelly babies! Foxes! All things in writer Jamie Mathieson’s “Mummy on the Orient Express,” this week’s episode of the obscure and not well regarded televisual program known as Doctor Who, and all subjects for debate for the Three Who Rule, who mulled all these elements plus rampant lying, Bechdel cabs, and much more! Also stats, comics books, Foxes’ spoiler-y music video, and much more! Well actually, that’s really about it. But enjoy regardless!

It’s only September, yet even more great guests have been announced for the upcoming Gallifrey One convention in February!
A member of the legendary Redgrave family of acting, Jemma Redgrave has played Kate Stewart, the new head of UNIT, in “The Power of Three” and “The Day of the Doctor”, and will appear in the upcoming series finale of Series 8 this autumn. This will be Jemma’s first appearance at Gallifrey One.
Jamie Mathieson has made a career out of writing for science fiction TV series in the UK, penning episodes of Being Human and Dirk Gently, as well as writing the 2009 film “Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel”. Jamie has also written episodes 8 and 9 of this current series of Doctor Who.
Peter Harness is new to writing Doctor Who with his Series 8 episode “Kill The Moon”, but he is by no means new to the show itself. A long time Doctor Who fan, Peter has also written for such notable TV programmes as Wallander. This will be Peter’s first Gallifrey One.
Nick Robatto was props maker on Doctor Who on over 40 episodes from 2006-2011, and will bring his knowledge and experience of making the many props that the show requires to Gallifrey One. He joins previously announced crafts guests Mike Tucker and Danny Hargreaves.
Nicholas Briggs has been a Gallifrey One veteran but is making his first appearance at the convention since 2013. The voice of the Daleks and the Cybermen, as well as the executive producer of Big Finish audioplays, Nick has always been a fan favourite at any convention he’s attended.
David Gooderson had the unenviable task of filling Michael Wisher’s shoes (and Wisher’s face mask – literally!) in playing the role of Davros in 1979’s “Destiny of the Daleks”. However, we all (well, some of us) think that that story is an underrated gem, and Gooderson’s portrayal is key to that opinion. This will be David’s first appearance at Gallifrey One.
Also announced were actor W. Morgan Sheppard, Keith Barnfather of Reeltime Productions (makers of several unofficial Doctor Who videos from the 1990s), Chase Masterson, and Arnold T. Blumberg. Check out the full list of guests on the Gallifrey One website. Stay tuned to Gallifrey One and Radio Free Skaro for future guest announcements!
The Series 8 news is slowly building as we hurtle towards August 23rd, the just-announced debut date for Peter Capaldi (aka P-Cap), the 12th (13th?) Doctor in a feature-length adventure called “Deep Breath”. But mixed with excitement is disappointment for some fans, as there will be no San Diego Comic Con panel this year…which makes sense given Doctor Who is to be gallivanting around the globe shortly on a world tour of seven different cities on five continents. But all this is mere preparation for the return of Fluid Links, where we answer your questions about Doctor Who, nonsense, and Doctor Who nonsense! Which questions did we pick? Listen and find out!
