• Radio Free Skaro #477 – Sarcopha-Gus

If Radio Free Skaro was ever made into a lackluster dystopian future series of adventures for the tween set (which it won’t, ever), it would have to be called “Digression,” because that was the tenor of the first few minutes of this episode. Eurovision is rightly disparaged, Warren is baffled ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #476 – Ravolox and Bagels

We promise, this is almost certainly the last time we jabber on about superhero movies...but that is in fact what happens at the start of this week's episode, until Chris lobs a well-deserved boot heel into the proceedings and gets the Other Two Who Rule back on track and talking ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #475 – In Praise of Fangirls

It was a wild week to be a fan of Doctor Who and other sic-fi franchises this past week! Gallifrey One memberships went on sale and crashed ticket sales sites, Osgood and the Zygons are returning in Series 9, Torchwood audio plays are coming to Big Finish, and Avengers: Age ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #474 – Mayhem of the Mooninites

As Steven dips further into cricket insanity, a factor leading to his inevitable emigration to India could be the fact that Doctor Who will soon start broadcasting there for the first time. How can he possibly resist? Or perhaps a trip to New York to see the Symphonic Spectacular in ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #473 – The Invisible Enemies

What’s better than a commentary of the Series 8 episode "The Caretaker" with The Memory Cheats co-host Josh Zimon joining the Three Who Rule? Very little…except Wife in Space impresario Neil Perryman joining Warren and Steven for a look at the news! Yes, it’s a bumper crop of guest stars, ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #472 – Do The Hustle

In what may be a new record for top-of-the-show off-topic banter, much hashing out of the new Star Wars trailer (of course) occurred, along with Steven’s descent into schedule and archived newspaper madness, wherein he charts out exactly when he (and by extension the other Two Who Rule) began watching ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #471 – A Flurry of Murray

It’s a little early to start talking about Gallifrey One’s next con in 2016..or is it? Not since tickets go on sale on May 4th (10 a.m. Pacific) and the Marriott’s block of hotel room goes on sale a week later on May 11th! And if the world’s greatest convention ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #470 – Fear Makes Companions Of Us All

Every day Peter Capaldi proves himself more and more of a Doctor Who fanboy, and his latest japes at the Doctor Who experience are but the first bit of good news this week, including free comic books, new Big Finish, Dominic Glynn remixes, and more! But the showcase of the ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #469 – Dramatic Delights

Happy post-10th Who birthday, everyone! What with Peter Capaldi visiting the Doctor Who Experience and entertaining children with birthday cakes and charm, it’s easy to forget that other things were happening in the world of Who this week, like Big Finish announcing they’ll be making their audio adventures until at ...

  • Radio Free Skaro #468 – Ten Years On

Ten years ago, a dream came true for many long-time fans of Doctor Who. A show long feared dead returned, stronger and better than ever....but in order for that to happen, many talented people had to come together in front of the camera and behind the scenes for a show ...

Starz has released an 11-minute sneak peek of Torchwood: Miracle Day including a bunch of footage from the series. Have a look!

Website Den of Geek is reporting that Torchwood: Miracle Day will begin its UK run on Thursday, July 14. The New World will go out at 9:00PM that day on BBC One, kicking off the new series in the UK, albeit 6 days behind the US broadcast on Starz and 5 days behind the Canadian broadcast on SPACE.

The BBC Press Office has yet to make any public statement regarding the UK launch of the series, though they have sent a release to news outlets explicitly stating the time & date of transmission.

Needless to say there has often been the ethical question relating to “other means” acquisitions of Doctor Who by those outside the UK before day and date transmissions became a reality; it will be interesting to see if any reports are published about such actions by UK residents looking to avoid the 6-day delay for Torchwood: Miracle Day. Given Doctor Who Magazine has also reported there will be at least minor differences between the US and UK versions, there may be another reason for folks in the UK to seek out those “other means” when it comes to Torchwood: Miracle Day, just as there may be for those outside the UK curious to see the UK versions of the episodes.

Many thanks to Simon Brew over at Den of Geek for the information required for this article.

SPACE, Canada’s home of Doctor Who and Torchwood, has just announced Torchwood: Miracle Day will be broadcast from July 9.

Torchwood: Miracle Day tells the story of what happens when one day nobody on Earth dies and the repercussions faced by humanity; it features the return of Capt Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper, played by John Barrowman and Eve Myles. Joining them are Mekhi Phifer as Rex Matheson, Bill Pullman as Oswald Danes, Lauren Ambrose as Jilly Kitzinger and Alexa Havins as Esther Drummond.

Torchwood: Miracle Day will occupy the 9PM ET time slot, an hour later than Doctor Who had this spring.

The series will premiere in the US on Starz on July 8 at 10PM ET/PT, however the BBC has yet to announce its broadcast schedule for the show.

Radio Free Skaro #258 – Click here to listen

With the end of Series 6.1 comes a time for reflection… and what better way to genuflect than with two of the members of Tachyon TV, Neil Perryman and John Williams? Fresh off “A Good Man Goes to War,” the houses of Tachyon and Skaro offered their (somewhat surprisingly) sunny and pleasant feelings towards the last batch of Who stories we’ll see until the fall, as well as digressing about Neil’s ongoing Adventures With the Wife in Space blog (read by none other than Doctor Who production team head Steven Moffat, amongst others) and other matters of import. A small note; the Tachyon TV segment was recorded before fan controversy erupted for the umpteenth time over next year’s schedule of shows, so that issue was (thankfully) never raised amongst the good feelings and bonhomie.

Yesterday, Starz released a series of character profiles for Torchwood: Miracle Day and scattered them across the web. Each looked at one of 6 major characters – Capt Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, Rex Matheson, Oswald Danes, Esther Drummond and Jilly Kitzinger – for about a minute apiece. Today Starz released an amalgamated version of those profiles, and here it is!
