A bumper crop of fantastic interviews highlights this week’s episode of Radio Free Skaro! Steven, our man in…er…Chicago managed to talk to Mark Sheppard about his lifelong passion for Doctor Who and his desire to return to the show, Benjamin Cook talks about his experiences writing The Writer’s Tale with Russell T Davies, Nick Briggs and Jason Haigh-Ellery discuss Tom Baker’s long awaited return to the role of The Doctor (in audio form), as well as say all that they can about the upcoming project to animate the missing episodes of The Reign of Terror, and Robert Shearman mentions Volume 2 of Running Through Corridors in between mouthfuls of pizza and beer. We hope you enjoy these interviews as much as we enjoy bringing them to you! |

Radio Free Skaro has in past provided extensive coverage of Gallifrey One, the world’s preeminent Doctor Who convention which takes place in Los Angeles every February, and we’re pleased to say that we will be doing the same for Chicago TARDIS this year. One of our number, Steven, will be in attendance at the convention, talking to the guests and attendees and gathering interviews and such for Radio Free Skaro podcasts. It will be a grand time, and we hope that as many of you who listen to our podcasts can make it down to Chicago on Thanksgiving weekend. Check out the Chicago TARDIS website for more details about the convention! |
It’s getting to be that time of year again when hundreds of Doctor Who fans and celebrities converge upon sunny California at Gallifrey One, the largest Doctor Who fan convention in North America. This year’s edition, Gallifrey One’s Catch 22: Islands of Mystery, takes place from February 18-20, 2011, at the LAX Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles, CA, and Radio Free Skaro will be there!
As in past years, The Three Who Rule will provide extensive coverage of the convention by publishing daily podcasts from Thursday, February 17 through until Monday, February 21. These podcasts will feature interviews with many of the guests at the convention, as well as the main RFS event of the weekend: Radio Free Skaro in 3-D, live on stage, on Friday, February 18 at 2pm, featuring guests Gareth Roberts, Clayton Hickman, Joss Agnew, James Moran, and Phil Ford. We might even have a surprise or two in the works…

The latest Doctor Who related event at Waterstones in Lakeside, Thurrock, took place this past April 24 where actor/writer/Voice of the Daleks himself, Nick Briggs, appeared to sign copies of his new Big Finish audio play, “Sherlock Holmes: The Speckled Band”. Tony Gallichan and Professor Dave provided this report from the event, including an interview with Nick, who also provided an excerpt from “The Speckled Bird”. Enjoy!

After the “incident” with Chris on Friday that resulted in no podcast being released for the first official day of Gallifrey 21, Radio Free Skaro returned today in full force with interviews with Nick Briggs, Phil Ford, and Rob Shearman. Listen to these three fine gentlemen regale you with tales of woe, whimsy, and water – not necessarily in that order. NOTE: Chris’s appearance on this podcast is purely due to contractual obligation. We cannot comment on any rumours that have been circulating about Chris’s future on Radio Free Skaro. |
