Gallifrey One has announced another guest update for the 2012 edition of the popular Doctor Who convention, featuring first-time guest W. Morgan Sheppard, and writer Simon Guerrier!
Sheppard played the older version of Canton Everett Delaware III in this past series of Doctor Who and joins his son, Mark, as a guest for the upcoming convention. Guerrier is known for his work with his brother Thomas on the Classic Doctor Who DVD range along with writing novels, Big Finish audio plays and more. Also announced today are actress Chase Masterson who made an appearance at the previous Gallifrey One, director James Kerwin, illustrator Blair Shedd, animator Aimee Major Steinberger, and NASA scientist Dr Kevin Grazier. Unfortunately the announcement today also revealed previously-announced guest Frazer Hines would be unable to attend. Gallifrey One is North America’s largest Doctor Who convention and Network 23, running February 17-19, 2012, will be dedicated to the memory of Elisabeth Sladen and Nicholas Courtney. |
Hey! It’s another podcast from the Doctor Who Podcast Alliance! In this episode, Martyn from the Bad Wilf Podcast and David Monteith of the Geek Syndicate Podcast venture down to the Valiant 2 Convention in Sheffield, UK (which took place on March 5). There, they interviewed several notable people such as writers Joe Lidster (Sarah Jane Adventures) and Simon Guerrier (Short Trips, Big Finish), Clifford Rose and David Weston (who both appeared in the 1981 serial Warriors’ Gate), Roy Spencer (from The Ark and Fury From The Deep), and the wonderful Sophie Aldred, who of course played Ace from 1987-89. The countdown is on to Gallifrey 21, the world’s foremost Doctor Who convention, which gets underway on February 26 in Los Angeles, California. The Three Who Rule will be there for the second straight year, having enjoyed themselves immensely when they attended Gallifrey 20 in February 2009. If you, dear readers and listeners, are headed there this year, too, you will have the time of your lives. If you can’t make it to LA, then Radio Free Skaro has you covered, as there will be daily RFS podcasts from Gallifrey from Wednesday, February 24 to Sunday, February 28.
Each episode will be packed with interviews with actors, writers, and directors from Doctor Who, as well as the typical japery and nonsense that usually accompanies Radio Free Skaro podcasts. So keep checking the feeds and iTunes starting on February 24 as Radio Free Skaro brings the Gallifrey experience to you!
